LuckyFM Ibaraki Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture), in collaboration with BARKS Inc., will hold LuckyFes ’25 over the three-day weekend from August 9 (Saturday), 10 (Sunday), and 11 (Monday, a public holiday) in 2025 at Hitachi Seaside Park (Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture).

LuckyFes was launched in 2022 as a brand-new festival under the theme of “A Celebration of Music, Food, and Art.” The festival aims to create a crossover of various musical genres, featuring artists popular across generations from POPS, ROCK, HIPHOP, JAZZ, Anime Songs, Idols, K-POP, and more. With a focus not only on music but also on gourmet festival food and art, the festival offers an experience akin to a theme park. It has been well-received as a festival where all generations can have a great time, with free admission for elementary school children and half-price tickets for middle and high school students.

In its third year, LuckyFes ’24 saw a venue change to the Grassland Area, where 60,000 fans gathered in a frenzy to enjoy performances by 10 artists from five Asian countries. The event concluded with great success.

Additionally, Hitachi Seaside Park, the venue for the event, is a nature-rich location with grassy areas, shaded spots, and a coastal breeze, which is expected to lower the perceived temperature even further.

4. Thunderstorms

Over the past five years, the occurrence rates of thunderstorms in July and August have been relatively balanced.

5. Heatstroke

Regarding heatstroke, there is a nationwide trend of more emergency transports in July, when people are not yet accustomed to the summer heat, compared to August (*2). The same trend is observed in Hitachinaka City, where the venue is located.

Taking all five of these considerations into account, we have decided to hold LuckyFes ’25 in August. Despite the change to an August schedule, we will enhance our efforts to ensure that all our friends (visitors) can enjoy the festival safely and comfortably by reinforcing measures against the summer heat. Specifically, we will continue to rigorously implement and update the “5 Key Principles for Heatstroke Prevention.”

<5 Key Principles for Heatstroke Prevention>
1. All stages will be set up in grassy areas.
2. The front area of the main stage will have a priority admission system with scheduled rotations.
3. All food and rest areas will be located in shaded spots or covered locations.
4. An increased number of water supply stations will be installed, along with water play areas for children.
5. Four first-aid stations will be set up, with spacious resting areas secured.

LuckyFes ’25 aims to become Asia’s largest theme park-style festival, combining the 60th anniversary of LuckyFM Ibaraki Broadcasting with the 25th anniversary of BARKS. Together, we will strive to make this event an even more powerful experience, ensuring that both our friends and the artists can fully enjoy and be satisfied with the festival.

As we enter the fourth year of LuckyFes ’25, the event is set to become even more powerful with the co-hosting of BARKS, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. We decided to move the event from July, where it was held for the past three years, to the second week of August during summer vacation, a period that has been the traditional timing for rock festivals at this venue for over 20 years. This change will make it easier for families to participate. Regarding concerns such as temperature, thunderstorms, and heatstroke, the results show no significant differences between July and August. With the slogan “The Biggest Theme Park-Style Festival in Asia During Summer Vacation,” we are dedicated to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all our friends. LuckyFes ’24 concluded with a grand finale of 1,000 fireworks. Even the next day, we are still basking in the lingering excitement and emotions. As I scroll through your social media posts, the sense of accomplishment and gratitude brings tears to my eyes.

The passionate performances of the artists, the smiles of the friends, the large stage adorned with rainbows and feathers, families playing with children in the shade, the vast green park, and the blue sky above. The staff working tirelessly in their LuckyFes T-shirts, the voices of the LuckyFM live broadcasts, the fireworks lighting up the night sky with a roar, the photo taken with my 89-year-old mother and 91-year-old father, the live performance dancing with children – all these moments have become irreplaceable treasures for me.

LuckyFes, which began with the amateurish declaration of “We can’t let the festival culture in Ibaraki die!” and a single phrase, “We have to do it,” has grown into a large-scale festival featuring 114 artists over four stages (plus LuckySpace) and attracting 60,000 friends over three days, two and a half years later.

On the first day, Saturday the 13th, LuckyFes ’24 opened with a spectacular performance by yama following the opening declaration, and on the final day, Monday the 15th (a public holiday), the festival concluded with a relay of performances by Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders, Da-iCE, and the grand finale by NEWS. I couldn’t hold back my tears during the closing performance of “U R not alone.”

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the artists who performed, the friends who participated, the sponsors, the partners, the cooperating companies, and the staff. We also thank the Hitachi Seaside Park and the city of Hitachinaka and Ibaraki Prefecture for providing the venue, and the police, fire department, and medical personnel for ensuring safety and security.

Compared to the thunderstorms two years ago and the extreme heat last year, this year’s festival was blessed with pleasant weather, making it more comfortable. We are delighted that the festival was conducted safely without any major incidents.

1. After the previous artist’s performance ends, we will switch out the front area. Guidance to the area will be provided after the previous audience members exit.
2. Approximately 45 minutes before the performance of the respective artist, an entry waiting line will be formed in the “Priority Entry Waiting Area” of each STAGE. Entry will be guided in order of the assigned numbers. Please show your priority entry ticket on your smartphone to the staff as you enter. If you are not present when your number is called, the next numbers will be called in sequence. Even if you miss the call, you can enter after the number calling is finished. Please be aware that the timing for forming the entry waiting line may vary depending on the situation on the day.

Depending on the situation on the day, if there is still space available in the front area after priority entry ticket holders have entered, we will guide non-priority ticket holders into the front area based on the crowd’s atmosphere and past artists’ requests. Please be aware of this in advance.

The gates will open at 8:00 AM. Please refrain from waiting in the surrounding areas overnight or arriving early in the morning. The post LuckyFes announces the timetable! With the addition of artists such as Yu Takahashi and Ryota Fujimaki, a total of 110 acts will gather. Starting with yama, followed by headliners Ulfuls and Novelbright, and culminating with NEWS at the finale. first appeared on LuckyFes 2024.

Starting from Friday, June 7th, pre-sales of the official goods will be available on Adastria’s official web store “.st” and at select “niko and …” stores. Additionally, a merchandise booth will be set up at the event. This marks the third year of collaboration, with Adastria continuing to support the principles and concept of LuckyFes.

The official goods for “LuckyFes’24” are fully produced by “niko and …,” under the supervision of Adastria’s B2B production group “ALC / Adastria Lifestyle Creation,” which also hosts its own music festivals. Pre-sales will start on Friday, June 7th, exclusively on Adastria’s official web store .st (dot st) and at select “niko and …” stores (niko and … TOKYO, niko and … Aeon Mall Mito Uchihara).

This year, the variety of essential outdoor festival items such as T-shirts, towels, and caps has been expanded. The colorful designs and original graphics inspired by the vast meadows express LuckyFes’s concept of “Music Crossover.” The lineup includes items that are not only perfect for enhancing the festival atmosphere but also suitable for everyday use, allowing people of all ages and genders to share their memories repeatedly.

During the LuckyFes event, in addition to the official goods booth, a pop-up booth of the sustainability experience-based “OFF STORE” will also be set up, offering season-out items at affordable prices. The festival grounds will be filled with events and food options that can be enjoyed by children and families, providing a unique way to enjoy the freedom of “LuckyFes’24.”

This year, the festival area will be expanded to include four stages: Leverages presents RAINBOW STAGE, Yakult presents WING STAGE, Coolish presents GARDEN STAGE, and Globis presents HILLS STAGE. Adastria, a fashion company founded in Ibaraki Prefecture, will enhance the event with the power of fashion, making this year’s LuckyFes even more powerful.
